Did you know that the Arts at Messiah University offers a variety of camp opportunities for those who want to engage in the Arts this summer? Whether your student is interested in Jazz music, Orchestra, Vocal performance, the Theatre, or Dance you can find a summer camp to challenge their creative side.

CPFJ Jazz Camp at Messiah University
Wednesday, June 8 – Saturday, June 11
The Central Pennsylvania Friends of Jazz (CPFJ) Jazz Camp serves music students ages 12-18, of all instruments and voice and is conducted by professional jazz musician-educators. Students who seriously desire to further their musical education and, in particular, to learn about jazz improvisation, are welcome.

Messiah University Summer Vocal Academy
Wednesday, June 15 – Saturday, June 18
The Summer Vocal Academy offers an exciting opportunity for students entering grades 9 through graduated high school seniors. Student musicians will sing each day in a large choral ensemble as well as sing in smaller, student-led vocal chamber ensembles.  Student musicians will also take individual voice lessons with our voice faculty and attend daily workshops and masterclasses led by expert artist-teachers.

Messiah University Theatre and Dance Academy
Sunday, June 19 – Friday, June 24
Have you ever considered majoring in theatre or dance? The Messiah University Theatre Arts Academy specializes in professional training for rising 9th through 12th-grade emerging theatre and dance artists. Join us for a unique opportunity to experience one week as a Messiah University theatre or dance major, explore faith and art, and culminate your week with a performance. This is an opportunity to explore campus and learn firsthand about campus life from current majors and alumni who serve as your resident assistants.

Messiah University Orchestra Camp
Sunday, July 17 – Saturday, July 23
The Summer Orchestra Camp offers an exciting opportunity for students entering grades 7 through 12 to play in chamber ensembles, two large orchestras, masterclasses, and take courses in musicianship, all taught by an expert faculty of artist-teachers comprised of Messiah University faculty and orchestral educators of Central Pennsylvania.

Elementary Theatre Camp
July 11-15, Monday through Thursday – 9:00 to 12:00
Friday 9:00 – 2:00 with a performance at 12:30 for family and friends
Cost $150
Creative exploration and the development of individual potential are the primary goals for junior division theatre students. In addition to devising and rehearsing a production, students have acting and dance classes in which they investigate the world of theatre through exercises that activate their voices, bodies, and imaginations. Open to students going into grades 3rd-6th.
